Dr. Marquinet C. Hence attended the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee where she received her degree as a Doctor of Dental Surgery. Dr. Hence received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. After graduating from dental school, she practiced adult dentistry for several years with Corrections Corporation of America. Dr. Hence is experienced in general dentistry, partial dentures, extractions, whitening and all other types of dentistry to create that winning smile and look patients desire. Dr. Hence and her husband, Michael, have one child and are active members of Mt. Olive CME Church. She was born in Memphis and he is a native Mississippian.

Hello, everyone! My name is Melvia Hence. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our team. I have been with Dr. Hence since the office opened in August 2008. I am a mother of two and I enjoy reading, cooking, traveling and hanging with my family and friends. I am a native Mississippian who transferred to Memphis during my senior year of high school. I am a recently retired thirty year veteran of the Shelby County Government. I have decided to go into a completely new field of study for myself, which will include helping to assist you with appointment scheduling, finance options, insurance benefits, and office policies. I am usually the first person you meet when you contact our dental office. I am your dental assistant and in the near future I will become a dental hygienist. This will aid in serving you better as a patient, a customer and a family member of Hence Family Dentistry.
